Shield stores your daily security score and preferences on your device only. When you explicitly ask for AI analysis, it sends only the URL or text you selected to our API — nothing is stored after the analysis. We never collect passwords, browsing history, or personal data. We never sell data.

01Overview

iTechSmart Shield is a browser security extension that scans websites for threats, trackers, and vulnerabilities. We built it with privacy as a core requirement — not an afterthought. This policy explains exactly what data Shield collects, what it does not collect, and how any data is used.

02Data We Store Locally (Never Transmitted)

  • •Daily security score — a 0–100 score calculated from your day's browsing scans
  • •Recent scan history — the last 10 security findings from your browsing session
  • •User preferences — which security checks are enabled or disabled
Note: This data is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage using chrome.storage.local. It never leaves your device and is never sent to any server.

03Data Transmitted Only On Explicit User Action

  • •Current page URL — sent when you click the Scan button, right-click to "Check this link with iTechSmart Shield", or press Ctrl+Shift+S
  • •Selected text — sent only when you highlight text and explicitly trigger AI analysis
Note: Shield never automatically transmits any data. Every transmission requires a deliberate action from you. We do not track your browsing history, monitor pages in the background, or send anything without your explicit request.

04Data We Do Not Collect — Ever

  • •Passwords or authentication credentials
  • •Form inputs or any text you type into websites
  • •Browsing history or visited URLs beyond the current page scan
  • •Personal identification information of any kind
  • •Payment or financial information
  • •Location data
  • •Private or incognito browsing activity
  • •Cookies or session tokens

05How Transmitted Data Is Used

When you explicitly trigger an AI analysis, the URL or selected text is sent to our API endpoint at api.itechsmart.dev/api/shield. This data is processed by Nemotron Super 49B (NVIDIA's enterprise AI model) to generate a security analysis result. This data is NOT stored after the analysis is complete. NOT logged to any database. NOT used to build profiles. NOT shared with any third party for any purpose. The analysis result is returned to your browser and displayed — nothing is retained on our servers.

06Third-Party Services

AI analysis is powered by the NVIDIA NGC API (Nemotron Super 49B). Content you send for analysis is processed under NVIDIA's API terms of service. We do not integrate with any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers. We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data to any third party under any circumstances.

08Data Retention

Your local security score and scan history are automatically cleared after 30 days. You can clear all Shield data at any time through the extension's Settings page. When you uninstall Shield, all local data is permanently deleted by your browser.

09Children's Privacy

iTechSmart Shield does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The extension does not include any features directed at children.

10Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the extension. Continued use of Shield after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
