Definition

AI accountability is the property of an AI system whereby every consequential action it takes is recorded as tamper-evident, independently verifiable evidence — capturing the decision, its rationale, the action taken, and the verified result. The test is simple: if a regulator, auditor, or customer asks 'prove what your AI did,' can you show evidence they can check without trusting you?
